Scarecrow Competition
First Prize for the Best Judged Scarecrow!
Sunday ticket for a Family of 4 to the Derbyshire Sausage and Cider Festival
The Edingale Scarecrow trail is being launched for the first time in June 2019 and is part of a growing number taking place in the UK. A great example is the Elford Scarecrow Festival, which attracts a large number of visitors to their village and raises a huge amount of money for their village hall and Walled Garden.
Scarecrow Trails are community art projects where children, families and local businesses lovingly hand-craft Scarecrows using a range of materials, and range from the wacky to the extraordinary. For a history of Scarecrow festivals in the UK, there’s some great information and cool photos of interesting Scarecrows here - https://www.amusingplanet.com/2015/07/scarecrow-festivals-in-uk.html
